Mar 16, 2016 Does my COMAND (NTG 2.5) need a disk to update maps? Password license.reg fl studio. I have my SLK covered by the Mercedes Service Plan and i to was told this would include free software updates. 'Playing' with Mercedes Comand APS NTG 2.5. At present Telematics update is done only with the help of Mercedes with Star Diagnosis. It is relatively easy to install COMAND APS NTG2.5 in the A, B, CLC, ML, GL, R and SLK class without Harmon Kardon (HK) sound system. It is also relatively easy in E or CLS with Audio-20-CD head unit (without HK) - it is more difficult in E and CLS with COMAND or Harmon Kardon but retrofit looms are available.

NTG 1 - W211 E Class, R230 SL, W219 CLS, R171 SLK, W220 S class, R230 SL, W216 CL - all pre model year 2009 NTG 2 - W169 A class, W245 B class, W203 C class, W209 CLK, W164 ML, X164 GL, W251 R - all pre model year 2009 NTG 2.5 - W169 A class, W245 B class, W203 C (Coupe only), W164 ML, X164 GL, W251 R, R230 SL, R171 SLK, W211 E class - all MY 2009 onwards. (note: NTG 2.5 comand can be retrofitted to W203 saloons/estates from MY2005 onwards).
